Karmic alternate desktop?

I haven't kept up with Karmic in the last 6 weeks since having such rotten luck with a few of the daily builds. However, running the offical release of the Karmic live cd has really impressed, except for a couple of minor issues (Like why does spell-check insist every word I have typed is wrong?)

I wonder where the alternate desktop went? I still prefer the other window where I could navigate more quickly. Did it go away in the official release?

The alternate install CD?

http://releases.ubuntu.com/9.10/

Scroll down there, it's under the Server install CD and the UNR CD sections

That's odd, since the unr daily builds had the alternative desktop.
